A Weekend of Celebrations

Well I have had quite a weekend with two birthdays and Mothers Day. A whole weekend of celebrations.

It was my Sisters and Dads Birthdays on Friday the 1st April.  The 1st of April has always been quite a celebration in our family, as it also used to be my Grandfathers and my Great Granfathers birthdays too.  Four generations all be born on the 1st April (and that is not an April Fool!!)

We were on cake baking duty and I made my 'no fail' moist chocolate cake.  My little boy helped me decorate with maltesers and buttons (yum yum)....

RECIPE....if anyone fancies having ago!

3 oz Drinking Chocolate
5 oz Self Raising Flour
6 oz Sugar
6 oz Magarine or Butter
3 Large Eggs
3 tbsp Boiling Water

Method.....Mix all ingrdients together and beat for 2-3 mins.  Grease and line 8" cake tin.  Bake in the centre of the oven. Cooking time 1 hour - Gas mark 3-4 or 170*-180*C

WON'T FAIL!!

A good time was had by all!  Then we had a bit of a shopping day on Saturday, visiting or local Farmers Market in Hovingham and then heading into York.  Bought my little boy a gorgeous Rucksack from Cath Kidston.  He has been proudly wearing it all weekend!!

I was totally spoilt on Sunday...my two men made me the most gorgeous card...

And gave me a gorgeous bag of goodies...

I am a very lucky lady!

I have also been quite busy on the crafty making front too....

Til next time xx
