Victorian Fair at Castle Howard

What a wonderful weekend we have had.....We kicked off the weekend with a trip to the fair.  We went just up the road, into the grounds of Castle Howard where they had a brilliant Victorian Fun Fair.  My little boy loved it.  The rides were just so beautiful, all hand painted......a total joy just to look at, never mind ride on!!

The shire horses were out, giving people rides in their cart....

I just loved their name plaques....Sovereign and Billy!

We stopped off at the boat house for scones and tea.  The boat house is just the other side of the lake from our house and has recently just had a revamp.  It looks very 1950's and I love it.  It is now my regular haunt!

Then we picked up a few things for a BBQ, from the farmshop and butchers....

I am so lucky to have all this on my doorstep...

Also , very exciting, they have opened up a new Patisserie shop too!!!  The window was just full of the most amazing strawberry tarts, chocolate eclairs, individual raspberry pavlovas and many more gorgeously scrummy looking creations. Yum, yum, yum!!  Didn't manage to get a photo, I couln't get a clear shot, as there were too many people crowded around the window!!  But this is what we bought to bring home....

Then on Sunday the whole family got together for one of my mum's amazing roast dinners...

We also, thanks to the sunshine, spent quite a bit of time in the garden having a good old tidy up and getting the paddlypool out!!

Hope you have all had a great weekend too!!

Til next time xx
