A day of home baking and home making

We had one of those rare days at home today, where we could just potter and enjoy. I treasure these days in our otherwise hectic life. I warmed up the oven and got baking whilst my little boy had wonderful fun building a den in the living room, where the sun was streaming in.
...bread dough left to proof
...den built with Mummy's help
...shortbread cake
...tomato, onion and flat leaf parsley flat bread
...meringue with perfect amount of goo on the inside!
...a very wonky looking white loaf
...straight out the oven with lots of butter YUMMY
...the little man having fun with Alfie (his hippo made out of a sock, which is carried everwhere we go!) I even managed to have some hooky time today. I recieved this book through the post this week from the lovely Joanne at www.woolandbuttons.co.uk.
... I love it and is full of the colours of spring.
...this is one of the patterns from the book and is going to be my new project
And here's a couple of pictures to leave you with ....my garden coming back to life. Roll on Spring!
Till next time xx

  1. love the look of the new project blanket, but it looks as though it would take forever.
But what on earth is hooky time?!? is this a crocheters own language term. Sounds a bit inappropriate to me!
I've done exactly three stitches on that thing you started off for me, it may take me some time to complete!

  2. Ha ha! I suppose 'hooky time' does sound rather rude. I will have to watch how I word things in future!

Keep at it, it does get a lot easier - then you'll be hooked (excuse the pun). Crocheting is a lot quicker than knitting.

  5. Dear LissyLou and Anne...

I hope I don't disappoint you when I tell you the shortbread cake is just simply shortbread, but named a cake in our household because I always make it so thick!!
